It all started with a love story that lasted four and a half years in the city of Medellín, Colombia. After that time, everything came to an end—the relationship was over, and I couldn’t believe it. I did everything I could to save this love story, but it was in vain; it was truly over.
I cried and cried for more than a year, to the point where I thought I was going to lose my mind because I no longer had the love of my life.
After crying endlessly and going through psychologists and multiple therapies—even regression therapy—nothing seemed to work. Then I met a friend who lives in Medellín, Colombia, who suggested I try an Ayahuasca ceremony. He told me that he had done it himself and had a good experience dealing with a breakup he had suffered with his ex-partner, who also lives in Medellín. He mentioned that Ayahuasca had helped him move on from a lost love.
I thought to myself, «I’ve already lost everything in my life—what more do I have to lose?»
He suggested I contact a service in Medellín that conducts Ayahuasca ceremonies in the town of Guarne, near Medellín, Colombia. So, I did just that and organized my appointments to have an Ayahuasca experience in Medellín, Colombia.
Two days later, still in the city of Medellín, I met the person in charge of Psychotravels, who gave me a warm reception. They advised me and explained how the process would unfold, which brought me a lot of peace, as I had fears and concerns about trying something so unfamiliar. Together, we scheduled the Ayahuasca ceremony.
On the day of the experience, I was picked up at a specific location in Medellín, Colombia, by the friendly staff of Psychotravels, who gave me a warm welcome. In a private vehicle with several other participants—mostly foreigners, which gave me even more confidence—we headed to the town of Guarne, about 40 minutes from Medellín.
The ceremony took place in a stunning location surrounded by nature, colorful birds, and hundreds of trees and plants that created a welcoming, serene atmosphere.
We were greeted by a shaman, known as a Taita—a title given to someone of high spiritual advancement. He gave us a warm welcome and guided us to sit in a circle. There, he provided an introduction to the experience we were about to have.
I remained nervous about the unknown, but the Taita’s explanations helped me feel more at ease. After the introduction, he began preparing the Ayahuasca, also known as Yagé in Medellín, Colombia.
Everyone was given a small cup of a brown liquid with a strong, wine-like flavor. Up to this point, everything seemed normal. I prepared my space near the campfire to lie down and spent about 20 minutes talking with my companions. Soon after, I started to feel weak and began hearing loud noises, as if I could hear every animal in the forest. I started seeing colorful shapes and hearing angelic sounds.
Then, I began to feel how the love I once carried for this past relationship had disappeared. This realization caused me to enter a deep state of crying, as I felt all the sadness rise to the surface. About two hours later, I started to sense how self-love was being restored to me by this powerful medicine. I thought to myself, «Wow, this is the most wonderful thing I have ever experienced.»
I also came to understand many things about life—the beauty of being alive, the happiness life offers, and the value of the people around me, especially my family. I realized how much they mattered and that the person I had cried over was not worth it. My self-love had fully returned.
When I woke up, I felt an overwhelming love for myself and for all the beings around me. I felt love for myself, for life, for nature, and I understood the true meaning of God. God is everything that surrounds us; it is the love present in all of creation and the same love that resides within each and every one of us. I realized that we are all part of God himself.
When I woke up, I noticed a big smile on my face, and the others around me were smiling too. It was the most magical experience I had ever had. The sacred plants, the Ayahuasca I took in Medellín, Colombia, completely changed my life and my perspective on it. I could only say, “Thank you, thank you, medicine—I was born again.”
By 4 p.m., the ceremony had lasted six hours. I proceeded to enjoy a delicious broth provided by the Taita.
Afterward, the Taita performed a ceremony with a plant called guaira, which is used to close open spiritual channels, leaving me with a profound sense of peace.
Once the process was complete, the staff from Psychotravels, who had brought us to this beautiful place, transported us back to the city of Medellín, Colombia. I returned with a feeling of pure happiness, a deep love for life, and gratitude for simply being alive. It was truly the sensation of a new rebirth.
To anyone who wants to start a new life, I highly recommend experiencing the sacred medicine. There is no spiritual experience more beautiful or profound than this. You can check it out on the internet.
